Atheism has now officially gone online with its own television channel. A New Jersey-based atheist group started the first ever on-demand TV channel dedicated to godlessness, according to Daily News. The new channel, AtheistTV, plans to be launched this summer (July) to reach out to other atheists.

The channel plans to reach out to humanists, freethinkers, an others looking for a way out of faith. The spokesman, Dave Muscato, believes it is about time.
“There’s a glut of religious TV programming out there, from televangelists to Christmas specials,” spokesman Dave Muscato told The News. “But there’s no atheist channel. We wanted to fill that void.”
The production studio of American Atheists is based out of their national headquarters in Cranford, New Jersey. Currently their public access show “Atheist Viewpoint” has been recorded there already, and is in their 20th season. Distribution of the show, currently hits 50 markets across the country.
Interestingly, the Richard Dawkins Foundation will also join AtheistTV to help provide additional content, along with their “Atheist Viewpoint” footage.
The AtheistTV channel will be available on Roku. Currently Roku has more than 300 faith-based channels. Atheist believes this new channel will provide an additional outlet for those questioning their religion.
Muscato also hopes the channel will encourage people who doubt their faith to come out as atheist.
“We’ll have shows about philosophy, science, history,” Muscato said. “A critical examination of the facts.”
Along with providing philosophy, science and history through the Atheist worldview, the channel will provide answers for doubting questions current pastors have made.

“When somebody leaves their religion, they don’t necessarily know everything about the Big Bang,” Muscato said. “This will fill in the gaps in knowledge that pastors have left behind.
American Atheist is a national advocacy group for nonthiests. Their spokesman David Silverman, informed a crowd of 100 why they plan to go into television.
Why are we going to television?” he asked the audience, a mix of about 100 students and people from the local community. “It’s part of our strategy of going where we are not.”
Silverman also said the AtheistTV will provide atheist content 24 hours, 7 days a week, with an estimation of reaching 7 million households. “We are envisioning a lot of different content from many different atheist content creators,” said Dave Muscato, American Atheists’ director of communications. “We are hoping to sign on many other atheists who create videos currently on YouTube and other places.”
Atheism is defined as;
1. Disbelief in or denial of the existence of God or gods.
2. The doctrine that there is no God or gods.
3. Godlessness; immorality
